Good Friday, 3pm
A 6th minute strike by Steve Payne was all that seperated the two teams on a real Yorkshire pudding of a pitch at the Shay at the final whistle.
The truth of the game though was that Halifax dominated the first half and could have had a hat full if it wasn't for the impressive performance of keeper Zac Hibbert between the sticks.
In the opening seconds Town cut through the Chorley defence and Hibbert bravely blocked the shot, but ended up receiving treatment, giving the visting supporters and no doubt Steve and Lol a nervous few seconds!
The only goal of the game arrived courtesy of a deep left wing corner that sailed over everyone apart from central defender Steve Payne!
For the remainde of the half it was the Zac Hibbert show, with the in form keeper almost single handedly keeping the Shaymen at bay.
The second half was more of an even contest, but despite both sides sharing possession it was the home site that looked more of a threat in front of goal.
Home keeper Jonathan Hedge did have two routine saves to make, but Hibbert was the bussier of the two at the other end, keeping the title challengers out.
