Chorley 3-2 Mossley 23/03/2010

Tuesday March 23rd, 7.45pm

Chorley recorded their sixth 3-2 win of the season in a game that was for more comfortable for the Magpies than the score suggests.

If we had a striker with a proven eye for goal all season we'd surely be much higher in the league; if only the watching Peter Watson, the clubs record scorer with well over 300 goals for the club, was 40 years or so younger!

Mossley took the lead totally against the run of play with central defender Andy Watson nodding home a corner.  Apart from the goal and one other foray into the Chorley half, Mossley were on the defensive for the entire first half, with ex-Magpie Peter Collinge the busier of the two keepers.

Lee Shillito levelled the scored just before the half hour mark.  Danny Nolan opened the defence up with a point point pass and Lee slotted home from 18 yards when one-on-one with Collinge.

Mossley got into the game more in the second half, but it was Chorley who continued to look the more threatening and the only surprise was that it took until eight minutes from time for the second goal to arrive through Llyod-McGoldrick, who fired home after cutting inside from the left wing.

Chris Amadi made it three in injury time rounding Collinge, then Mossley grabbed a late consolation two minutes deeper in to stoppage time, but the points were safe.
