A young midfielder with pace and energy who made his debut for the Magpies against Radcliffe Borough in the League Cup.

Jerome FITZGERALD

Position: DEFENDER

Former clubs: Morecambe, Darwen, Rossendale United, Stalybridge Celtic, Accrington Stanley, Southport, Fleetwood Town, Leigh Genesis, Guiseley

Started his career in Morecambe’s Youth Academy. Had spells with several clubs before winning the UniBond Premier League with Fleetwood Town before joining Guiseley last season.

Signed for the Magpies in early January 2011 on an initial one-month loan and can can play anywhere across the back four. 

Garry said on signing him: “I’m delighted to get Jerome on board. With Wayne Maden still out injured and Andy Russell facing a two-match suspension, it was important to bring someone in with experience because we’ve got some big games coming up.

“Jez has won the Evo-Stik Premier Division with several different clubs so he’s a winner and I’m sure he will be an important figure for us, not just on the pitch but in the dressing room as well.”

When his initial month with the club was about to end, Guisleey agreed to extend the arrangemetn until early April.

Steve ABBOTT

Position: FORWARD

Former Clubs: Wigan Athletic, St Helens Town, Congleton Town, Leigh RMI, Team Bath, Wrexham, The New Saints , AFC Telford United

Signed on loan toward the end of November 2010 to add greater attacking depth to the squad on an initial one month loan from Blue Square North side AFC Telford United.

The 6ft 3in striker made a name for himself as an attacking midfielder for Team Bath, netting 30 times in 80 appearances before signing a two year pro contract at Wrexham.  Joined Telford during the summer of 2010.

Garry said on signing him: "“With Matt Jansen facing a three-match ban, it was important to get an extra body in for what will be a busy period.

“Steve is a big, powerful presence and, after speaking to Andy Sinton at Telford and Dean Saunders at Wrexham, he comes highly recommended.“He’s 6ft 3in and has spent most of his career playing at a higher level so he gives me another good option.”

Aaron REY

Position: FORWARD

Former clubs: Marine, Cammell Laird, Skelmersdale United, Prescot Cables

The Magpies beat off the challenge of three clubs higher up the non-league pyramid to secure the services of Aaron Rey from Prescot cables in mid-October 2010.

An exciting talent who had already scored six First Division North goals for the Cables prior to his switch to Victory Park.

His style of play brings a different dimension to the Chorley attack, speaking on his signing, manager Garry Flitcroft said:

"Three clubs from the Evo-Stik Premier were also competing for his signature but he’s decided to come here because he recognizes this is a club with huge potential.

“We needed to bring someone in upfront and Aaron fits the bill perfectly. He’s a target man and his style of play will give me a different option.

“I’ve watched him three times this season and on each occasion he’s really impressed me. "He’s strong, he’s quick, he’s very direct and he knows how to finish.”

Chris SIMM

Position: Forward

Former clubs: Leigh RMI, Wrexham, Hyde United, Southport

Chris brings energy and endeavour to the forward line, as well as goals and joined the Magpies on loan from Southport in mid September 2010 after turning down a permanent transfer to Chester FC after a fee had been agreed between the two clubs.

The 26-year old has the ability to wear down opposition defences, and established a reputation as a natural finisher during two goal-filled seasons at Hyde United, where he signed after trialing for Wrexham following three years with Leigh Genesis. Chris, from Lancashire, also boasts the impressive feat of having once scored a six-minute hat-trick and also made a pre-season appearance for the Magpies while in his teens.

CHRIS RETURNED TO SOUTHPORT WHEN HIS LOAN SPELL AT THE CLUB CONCLUDED, HAVING SCORED THREE GOALS IN HIS SIX APPEARANCES FOR THE MAGPIES

Richie BRANAGAN

Position: Goalkeeper

Former clubs: Bolton Wanderers, Bury

18-year-old son of former Bolton legend Keith Branagan joined Chorley from Bury as cover for regular keeper Zac Hibbert and had a fantastic debut against Woodley Sports at the beginning of March 2010.

Krishnan PATEL

Position: Midfielder

Former clubs: Bury

A Bolton born 18-year-old midfielder who in his second year as a pro at Bury.  He joined the Magpies in early March 2010 from the Shakers on a work experience loan.

Matty BARRETT

Position: Midfielder

Former clubs: -

A young midfielder who originally joined Chorley Reserves in the summer, but when the second string was disbanded he remained to fight for his place in the first team squad.

AFTER A HAND FULL OF APPEARANCES, MAINLY AS A SUBSTITUTE, MATTY LEFT THE CLUB.

Jamie NAY

Position: Full back

Former clubs: Morecambe, Bamber Bridge

Signed for Chorley in November 2009,

A combative player who can play on either flank of the defence or in midfield and is the clubs long throw specialist.

Matthew TINDALL

Position: Forward

Former clubs: Liverpool, Colne

A former Liverpool junior.  A nippy little striker who joined big front-man Craig Worrall in moving from Holt House to Victory Park, and made his début as a substitute in the 2-0 win away to Leigh Genesis.

David THOMPSON

Position: Defender

Former clubs: Bury

Liverpool born David is a product of the Shakers youth system and was offered a short term deal at the end of last season.A tall left footed defender that can play as centre half, left back or as a holding midfield player.

Following his release from Bury at the beginning of 2010, Steve Waywell was quick to as him to the Victory Park squad ahead of competition from clubs higher up the non-league pyramid.

Made his Chorley début against Garforth in January, but didn't appear again until April due to injury!
