Louis BARNES

Left back

Signed on loan from Blue Square Premier side Southport to cover Tom Walkers absence through injury.

Formerly with Northwich Victoria and Marine, Louis is a very attack minded full-back who can get crosses in from any angle and is also excellent at delivering set-play balls.

In 2010 he was invited to Manchester United for a trial along with his twin brother Sam.

Striker

A prolific striker who signed from Salford City in early March 2011 at the second attempt.

Having turned down an approach by Flitcroft earlier in the season, staying loyal to Salford in their quest for promotion at the time, Fozzie joined the Magpies once the Ammies were out of the play-off chase.

He had already netted 26 goals in 39 appearances before moving to Victory Park, lets just home he can be as prolific for us?

Matt WALWYN

Winger  |  Striker

Started out as a junior at Blackburn Rovers as a junior before joining Kirkham & Wesham where he scored twice at Wembley for them in the FA Vase Final.

When Kirkham became AFC Fylde he stayed on and made a name for himself as a great finisher. He left Fylde on the summer of 2011, going on trial at Blue Square Premier side Southport before joining Skelmersdale United where he smashed in eleven times in just seven appearances before switching to Victory Park in mid October 2011.

Jordan BOWEN

Central Midfielder | Winger

Signed in late October 2011 following his release from Ewood Park.

A diminutive ball playing midfielder who has represented England at youth level.

His appearances were mainly limited to ones from the bench, but when he was a called into action he displayed fantastic close control and an eye for a pass.  He will be hoping to break into the team during 2012/13 season.

Wayne MADEN

Central Defender

Defender with considerable experience and joined the Magpies from Hyde United in 2009.

Was appointed club captain following the departure of Tom Spearritt early in the 2009/10 season and lead by example and went on to picked up both the Players Player and the Supporters Player of the Year awards for his consistent displayed throughout the season.

However the last two seasons have been disrupted by long term injuries.

Can play on either side of the back four and is always a threat when going forward.

Shelton PAYNE

Position: WINGER, FORWARD

Former clubs: Cardiff City, Crystal Palace, Blackburn Rovers, Dinas Powys, Port Talbot Town, Trafford, Chorley, Hyde FC (loan)

Signed from Trafford prior to the pre-season friendly with Bolton Wanderers, Shelton is regarded as one of the fastest players in non-league football.

The 21-year-old scored 15 goals in 27 appearances for Trafford during 2009/10.

A delighted Garry Flitcroft said on his signing: “Shelton is a very exciting talent and I’m sure our fans are going to love watching him play.

“He’s got blistering pace, bags of skill and a decent eye for goal, and I’m confident I can get the best out of him.

“He can play on either wing or up front and his arrival means we have now got competition for places all over the park.”

LEFT THE CLUB IN JANURY 2012 TO PLAY FOR COLWYN BAY

Simon WHALEY

Position: Winger/Forward

Former clubs: Bury, Preston North End, Norwich City, Bradford City, Chesterfield, Burton Albion

A massive signing for the club as he was playing Championship football just two seasons ago, and at just 26 years old he is young enough to potentially return to that level.

26-year-old Simon joined the Magpies at the start of the 2011/12 season after a brief trial with the club.

Started his career with Bury, making 84 appearances for the Gigg Lane club, netting eleven goals before switching to then Championship side Preston North End for £250,000 in January 2006.  In 3 ½ years at Deepdale Simon chalked up 120 appearances in the Championship plus 11 in the cups, bagging 17 goals.

After a stint at Barnsley on load Whaley moved to Norwich City for a reported £250,000 in July 2009.  Things didn’t work out in East Anglia and in the two years since Simon has drifted through spells with Rochdale, Bradford City, Chesterfield, Doncaster Rovers before finishing last season at Burton Albion.
