MATCH RESCHEDULED | Chorley v Kidderminster Harriers rearranged

Following last week’s postponement of our National League North match vs Kidderminster Harriers, a new date for the fixture has been confirmed.

The match will take place on Tuesday 9 January 2018 with a kick-off time of 7:45pm.

The original fixture was postponed due to frost and snow in and around the Victory Park area.

Preview | Chorley v Marine

The Magpies entertain Marine on Saturday in the first round proper of the Buildbase FA Trophy, with Matt Jansen’s side looking to progress to the last 32 of the competition for the first time in three seasons, writes Alex Birch.

Standing in their way are Tommy Lawson’s struggling Mariners who sit 21st in the Evo-Stik Premier Division. However, the Merseysiders bring excellent cup form to Victory Park, including a 1-0 victory over FC United of Manchester in the last round.

The competition so far

25/11/17 3QR Grantham 3 Chorley 4 (Walker, Wilson 2, O’Keefe)

28/10/17 1QR Whitby Town 1 Marine 3 (Mitchley 2, Wylie)

11/11/17 2QR Atherton Collieries 1 Marine 5 (Mitchley 2, Murray 2, Bailey)

25/11/17 3QR Marine 1 FC United 0 (Mitchley)

Previous meetings

26/12/13 NPLPD Marine 0 Chorley 1 (Jarvis)

Last time out: The last meeting between the sides in the FA Trophy came at the first qualifying round stage in 2011, with the Mariners triumphing 1-0.

Better luck this year?: Chorley exited the competition at this stage last season following a 1-0 defeat at home to National League Guiseley.

Varied: The Lilywhites have played and beaten sides from National League North, Evo-Stik Premier Division, and Evo-Stik Division 1 North in this year’s Trophy.

Up for the cups: Despite Marine’s league struggles their only cup defeat in seven outings this season came at the hands of Ashton United in the FA Cup on September 2.
