Magpies gain quick revenge over Albion

AFTER suffering defeat at the hand of Witton Albion just two weeks ago it was a case of sweet revenge at Wincham Park as a Tom Ince penalty and a brace from Darren Stephenson sent the Magpies on their way to a three-one win.

It wasn't all one way traffic and Jack Cudworth was on top form to deny the hosts and more than one occasion, but at the end of the match there were three more hard earned and deserved points added to the league total that sees us moved to fifth in the league table.

On Saturday we turn our attention to the FA Cup when we entertain Nantwich Town at Victory Park.

Ten-man Magpies toil to victory

CHORLEY recorded an excellent 1-0 win over Ilkeston FC after having to play the final half and hour of the match with just ten-men.

Tom Walker, who missed the majority of last season through injury had to be stretched off the pitch after Garry Flitcroft had made the last of his three permitted changes.

New signings, keeper Jack Cudworh and striker Darren Stephenson, both impressed and it was Stephenson who netted the only goal of the game on 48 minutes.

However not only did the team hang on to what they had, they continued to push forward and it was difficult to tell which team had a man less.
