Magpies miss out in FA Cup

Chorley miss out on FA Cup glory and prize money after losing at home against Frickley Athletic and ending the match with just nine-men.

Tom Ince was sent off on the half hour mark and with Andy Teague and Tom Williams both leaving the field due to injury, Williams just minutes after the final substitution was made, the Magpies ended the game two men short.

Two Magpies make final flight

It is with the deepest sadness that we have to announce the passing of two loyal and lifelong Chorley supporters in the past week.

Last week Frank Powell sadly passed away and a minutes silence we held in his memory before yesterday’s FA Cup game against Frickley Athletic.

Then just a matter of hours after this game was completed, John Blackburn also passed away.

Both supporters had suffered from ill health in recent years and both with be greatly missed by everyone at Victory Park.

The funeral arrangements for John will be announced in due course, while Franks service takes place tomorrow (Monday September 24th) at 1pm at St Pauls Church, Adlington then 2pm at Charnock Richard Crematorium. This will be followed by drinks at Chorley Football Club.

Magpie Legends Number 2 - Archibald Pinnell

The second article in the Magpies Legends series might not be quite a legend, but Archibald Pinnell, go  has become somewhat infamous following the appearance of his picture on Chorley FC’s Wikipedia page.

Website update

As many supporters have become more than well aware there have been a series of technical problems that have beset this website over the past few months.

Many hours of investigation have taken place to isolate the issues and hopefully we are getting closer to a permanent resolution.

Over the next few days/weeks more work will be done to ensure (hopefully) this is the end of the matter and the website will once again be available 24/7.
