Five days to go

FIVE; In the season before Garry Flitcroft took over as manager at Victory Park, Chorley FC recorded just FIVE wins between New Year’s day and the end of the season in a run that saw the Magpies pick-up just 19 points for 60 on offer.

How times have changed!

Pre-season ends in defeat, but Walker and Whitham are back

THE Magpies completed their pre-season build-up with a trip to face Blue Square North side Droylsden, but despite the defeat there were positives from the game in Tom Walker and Dale Whitham both continuing their return to action after last seasons injury nightmares.

Six to go

SIX; the number of goals Chorley have scored without reply in their opening home league game in the past two seasons under Garry Flitcroft; 2010 v Woodley Sports & 2011 v Frickley Athletic…  Watch out Witton Albion!

Only seven days until the start of the new season

There is now just a week to go until we kick-off our 2012/13 Evo-Stik League season at Stocksbridge Park Steels, so here is the first of a few Chorley FC facts...

SEVEN years ago we kicked off our UniBond League Divison One season away to Eastwood Town and recorded a thumping four-nil win with goals from Peter Wright, Chris McGrath, Gary Martindale and John Bluck and the line-up that day included a youthful Jamie Vermiglio!

Let’s hope for more of the same next week!
