BREAKING NEWS | Haughton Signs for the Season

Chorley FC have completed the loan signing of Nick Haughton on Transfer Deadline Day.

The midfielder, from League One side Fleetwood Town will go straight into contention for the game against York City at the weekend.

Haughton is no stranger to the non-league circuit having previously played for Curzon Ashton, Trafford, Runcorn Town and Nantwich Town.  Last season he went on loan to Salford City and had a successful spell with the Ammies.  During his time at Highbury with the Cod Army, the 23 year-old has made 46 appearances.

Talking about joining he said: "I'm excited to push on with Chorley, who are a well established club at this level.  After meeting both the gaffer and Vermo I can't wait to get going - starting against York City on Saturday."

He added: "It was great to meet all the lads at training this evening and hopefully we can go on to bigger and better things.  I've played at this level before; it's always been competitive.  We've just got to get a few wins under our belt which will help push us up the table."

Manager Matt Jansen said: "Nick is a bright, young, intelligent midfielder with plenty experience at this level.  He offers a different dimension going forward, which will sometimes help if we want to change the system.  I'm positive he'll be an asset throughout the campaign."

Haughton joins his club colleague Matt Urwin at Chorley on a season long loan and we thank Fleetwood Town for their co-operation in bringing this deal to the table.
