Blyth Spartans (12/09/2017)

Chorley returned home empty handed from the mammoth mid-week trek north to Blyth Spartans.

After a goalless opening forty-five minutes the home side broke the deadlock on 56 minutes when Nathan Buddle converted a controversial goal - controversial because the build-up included a corner that wasn't awarded to the Magpies which was followed by a free-kick that shouldn't have been given against Marcus Carver.  Amidst the Blyth celebrations Stephen Jordan was red carded for dissent.

Down to ten, the Magpies pressed for an equaliser, but late in the game were hit on the counter.
