AS we bring this season and use of our pitch use to a close, I want to extend my congratulations to Andy Preece, our staff, and our players for their outstanding efforts throughout the campaign.
While we may feel a tinge of disappointment for narrowly missing out on promotion via the playoffs, we can take immense pride in the strides we've made both on and off the pitch.
On the field, our team performed brilliantly, finishing among the top-scorers and securing one of our highest points totals in recent memory.
Against really tough opposition, with some operating with resources more in line with the league above, our team have again, done us proud.
Their commitment to Chorley FC has embodied the values of our club and for that, we should all be proud.
The youth teams continue to make positive progress within their leagues but also for individual players.
We have many promising prospects emerging - there are plenty of reasons to be excited about the future of Chorley FC. Some of our prospects have had even more first team contact with one (Noel Brindle) making his debut this season!
A worthy mention as well to our under-13's team who were crowned North West Premier Conference (top division) champions, the team only dropped four points all season and ended on a goal difference of +59, a fantastic achievement.
Our under-16 girls' team is on a remarkable journey, aiming to clinch the treble. Their performances and results have been inspiring for all of us at the club.
The BTEC that we offer, in partnership with the Steven Gerrard Academy has continued to improve provision and outcomes. More students than ever have enrolled last year and this coming academic year will have greater numbers and an even more enhanced provision.
Off the pitch, our new ownership has brought about positive changes, enhancing the club's operational efficiency and laying the groundwork for future success.
With a range of local investors as well as some high-profile shareholders, we've strengthened our commercial standing and are excited about the opportunities our expanded network will bring.
Working alongside other club partnerships such as the Magpies Trust and Community Foundation are important in the future.
The Trust and Foundation have been instrumental in supporting community events such as the Down Syndrome Day and the ‘Helping Hannah’ event which were very successful occasions. We look forward to working together on even more projects and engaging more local people.
A transformation of the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium has already commenced, with upgrades to the pitch perimeter and renovations to enhance drainage and introduce a modern irrigation system.
These improvements reflect the owners’ commitment to providing improved facilities for our team and supporters alike. Thank you to LFP Environmental, DP Cold Planing and Shiloh Surfacing for their assistance so far and other people and companies who will support the imminent developments.
Looking ahead, on the pitch, Preecy and Ando are working on securing contracts of the current squad for the upcoming season, while also speaking to potential new additions to bolster our squad.
Additionally, we're gearing up for an exciting pre-season, including a special pre-season trip. Stay tuned for more details in relation to the squad and our schedule.
The upcoming season promises even more excitement for our dedicated supporters. A heartfelt thank you goes out to each and every one of you who have stood by us throughout this season (and previous seasons!) whether you're a long-time fan or a newly committed member of our ever growing Magpie Family.
From those who've travelled hundreds of miles to cheer us on to those who faithfully attend home games, your unwavering support is truly valued. As we look forward to the thrills and challenges of next season, know that your support is appreciated by us all, not least, Preecy and the lads.
As we reflect on the progress made this season, we do so with optimism for the future. Together, we're building a bright future for Chorley FC.
